Done with training, not sure how I got through it all. Tomorrow is my first full 8 hour day on the job in the new position. Now we get to see how long it takes me to get back to my previous speed and accuracy and volume :-P

On the upside, classes are still going well, although being taught stuff I already taught myself about various Microsoft products and paying for this privilege is a bit... much.

My child:

"If I were to ever write Iron Man fan fiction it would start with Tony saying, "I'm sorry, I can't hear you over how awesome I am." He might say other stuff - but he'd have to be buddies with Pyrrhon from Kid Icarus Uprising."

New classes start Monday. In training until the last week of June. The training wasn't even on the radar when I signed up for classes.

Sigh.

About to take final exam for American History.

Moderately nervous.

(edited to add)

I shouldn't have been worried - I got a 98.4%

I think my brain is better served going to bed than trying to cram any more history into it tonight.

I'm not too worried, I have an A in the class right now, and despite everything that was thrown at me today, I am in good shape for the final as well.

I seem to be very good at not updating. Not my intention.

Let's see. Didn't get the job I interviewed for. Which... isn't a bad thing. My current supervisor adores me and I am her golden child. These are good things in corporate America. I have been with the company for almost 5 years now. Moderately baffling.

I lost a bunch of weight last year. This year so far it's trying to come back. Back to the gym now that the burden of overtime has been lifted. I can work from 6:00 to 2:30 which in theory leaves me plenty of time to get to the gym, put in a good 45 minute work out and get home in time to make dinner. On the nights the husband doesn't cook.

Have to run to the store... we've just been warned a snow storm is headed our way. Yay?

I have an interview for a job within my company tomorrow.

There are lots of pros and cons to getting it, or not getting it. I'm almost ambivalent to whether I get it or not. But I have a selfless passionate reason to *WANT* it...

We shall see how it goes, I guess.

New Year

Got a little overwhelmed by things, work, school, family etc.

Will probably resurface at the end of the month.

This was possibly the first day I got to sleep past 7:00 in... all year outside of when I was sick (and since I have just got mostly over a month and a half long bout with "It's not the flu, but if you had the flu we could give you drugs" I guess I shouldn't be complaining). However, my dog woke me up at 9:00.

Not the way I wanted or would have wished to be woken up, but he got sick in the middle of my bed. :-/ Husband had already gotten up, the lucky man. Oh well.

Merry Christmas?

Four thirty comes way too quickly some mornings, but I knew I had missed this kind of update format when I can't actually recall the details of my shower because I was busy mentally composing an update. *sigh*

Since I regularly have to get up at 4:30 in order to be at work at six, it's not unknown, but now I've spent the entire time my coffee took to brew arguing with my work intranet site. You'd think we'd have a more functional thing considering how many work at home people we have.

Not too much has changed since I dropped off the face of livejournal. My kid became a teenager (and in fact in just over three months becomes eligible to get her learner's permit), I've dropped 30+ pounds, I got a new laptop, I already mentioned back to school... I guess I really am a relatively normal suburban housewife. The husband and I are settled nicely at 17.5 years of marriage and wondering how we're going to survive the remainder of the teenage years.

I need to decorate here and make icons (I missed doing that too) and see if I can find anyone else that I definitely want to follow and am not too concerned if they don't follow me :-) but I think I like it here and I've clearly missed this kind of forum.

I hardly use my livejournal but to keep up with certain people and most of them seem to be headed this way. Maybe a new place will prompt me to actually, I don't know... USE this thing.

I'm a little busy.

I turned 39 this year. I'm not sure when that happened. Oh, I mean I know *when* I just don't know where all the time went. I haven't had a month this entire year where I haven't had at least 15 hours of overtime as a requirement. Yay? But that's okay, because we've had bathroom renovations and oh, I've gone back to college to finally finish my degree. So it's not the same degree I was going for originally but twenty years delayed isn't too bad.

Took my first exam in my first class tonight. 92.5%

I guess it doesn't leave you...
